James P. Callaway M.D. and Amelia Haynes Callaway Fund for the 3+ Program & Rural Health Initiative

Endowment Fund #: 8415-P | Expendable Fund #: 8415-T | Type: Scholarship | Area: Medical College of Georgia

Dr. James P. Callaway M.D. ’08, and his wife, Amelia Haynes Callaway, M.Ed. ’08, have chosen to establish the James P. Callaway M.D. and Amelia Haynes Callaway Fund for the Medical College of Georgia 3+ Program & Rural Health Initiative.

Thanks to a generous gift form the Callaways, this fund will help support MCG 3+ Program & Rural Health Initiative scholarships. Dr. Callaway is a 2008 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and Mrs. Callaway is a 2008 graduate of Augusta University with a masters in education degree. The Callaways were inspired to make this gift to train the next generation of physicians who will practice in underserved parts of Georgia. Now residents of Birmingham, Alabama, the Callaways are committed to their home state of Georgia where they were raised, educated, and still have several family members. Dr. Callaway was inspired to go into medicine by his late grandfather and MCG graduate Dr. Goodwin G. Tuck M.D. ’51 with whom Dr. Callaway often rounded during the summers. Dr. Tuck was a longstanding and beloved member of the Covington and Newton County communities.  Donate Now >
