The Manish Jain, MD Excellence in Teaching Fund is established to recognize great and enthusiastic teaching contributions by both faculty and residents in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
The OBGYN Excellence in Faculty & Resident Teaching Awards will be presented annually. Preference will be given to early to mid-career faculty and resident eligibility will be at the PGY-2 level or above. Faculty will be honored with a plaque and the resident will receive support for professional development in the form of conferences, educational presentations, new tools in the educational setting, and/or textbooks.
This gift is inspired by Dr. Manish Jain, an OBGYN who taught at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University from 2015-2022. The Melvin L. Haysman, M.D. and Mrs. Roberta Kamine-Haysman Stethoscope Fund is established to provide stethoscopes, free of cost, to all first-year medical students at the Medical College of Georgia. These stethoscopes provide a connection for first-year students with the MCG Alumni Association and invite them into a culture of responsibility in patient care and mentorship with fellow physicians.
This endowment is designated to provide for the stethoscope program in concert with the funds raised in the annual appeal for stethoscope donations from other MCG alumni. If at any time in the future, this fund is no longer needed to support the stethoscope program, the donors’ preference is to support the MCG Class of 1971/Dr. Bobby Jones Scholarship. Donate Now >

The Allen L. Pelletier, MD Global Education Fund is established as an endowed fund in the Medical College of Georgia to support family medicine residents who wish to participate in overseas humanitarian post graduate medical training rotations. Residents will be eligible for a one time award. Funds can be used towards travel, food, and/or room and board while on medical rotation overseas.
This gift is inspired by and serves to memorialize Allen L. Pelletier, MD, (1955 – 2019), a Professor and former member of the MCG Family Medicine faculty who served as a medical missionary in Nigeria alongside his family in the 1990s. He is remembered by his colleagues, residents, students, and patients as a dedicated and compassionate teacher and physician.
Family Medicine faculty and staff will make this scholarship known to residents. Learner / resident will identify overseas rotation sites on their own, or from established rotations. Residency Program Director approves location once submitted by candidate and approves expenditures. Donate Now >

David W. Jones, MD is a 1978 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and practicing Pediatric Cardiologist. He is making this transformational gift in honor of his beloved father, John Paul Jones, Sr., MD, MCG Class of 1941, and his beloved mentor, William B Strong, MD, Emeritus L.H. Charbonnier Endowed Chair and Emeritus Chief, Division of Pediatric Cardiology.
Dr. Jones has enjoyed a successful career diagnosing and treating heart issues for pediatric patients from across the globe. His unwavering commitment to his young patients and their families, combined with a deep sense of faith instilled by his mother from a very young age, has inspired him to create an endowment that will transform access to the very best patient care by enhancing and sustaining the Pediatric Heart Progrsam at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia in perpetuity. The purpose of this fund is to create dedicated funding for HHT at the Medical College of Georgia. It is the wish of the donors to protect the operations and growth of the HHT efforts of the faculty and staff of MCG, as it is the only HHT Center for Excellence in the Southeast region and so is essential to the wellbeing of many patients. The Donors also recognize the current HHT Center Director, Dr. James R. Gossage, M.D., for his years of dedication and excellence in all areas of HHT. When the Director changes from Dr. Gossage, the initial donor shall be notified.
