On November 19, 2023, the MCGF along with its development partners made a presentation to the Augusta Housing Authority and Mayor Garnett Johnson about the Choice Neighborhoods project, the need for a grocery store, and the long-planned AU gateway project. The foundation shared details about how it had committed significantly to improving the community - both through the HUB for Community Innovation and Choice - and how its plans to create a safe and inviting gateway to AU's health sciences campus would allow for a cohesive blending of upscale and affordable housing and amenities.
