The Power of Annual Giving
Some highlights of 2018 include: In August, we welcomed the class of 2022—230 freshman who were chosen from among 1,256 Georgia applicants and 1,900 potential applicants from other parts of the country. With an average MCAT of 510.7 and overall GPA of 3.8, these students came to us from 51 colleges and universities. Throughout the year, we welcomed new chiefs for cardiothoracic surgery, gastroenterology and pulmonology and named new chairs for obstetrics and gynecology, neurosurgery, radiology and surgery. December began with the grand opening of the M. Bert Storey Research Building at the Georgia Cancer Center that will seamlessly connect research and clinical missions. We are so grateful to the alumni and friends who give to MCG year after year. Your gifts have the power to enrich the lives of our students and patients—our top priorities.
