This gift serves to honor Dr. Kathleen M. McKie, who was instrumental in helping Dr. Bonnie Prokesch prepare and be accepted to medical school which ultimately launched her career as a physician. This gift serves to demonstrate the tremendous gratitude the entire Prokesch family has for Dr. McKie. Dr. James T. Lowe Jr. Temporal Bone Lab

To name the Temporal Bone Lab within the MCG Department of Otolaryngology to be identified as the Dr. James T. Lowe Jr. Temporal Bone Lab. The donor, James Bush, M.D., is a 1969 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and he is naming the lab in memory of his late MCG classmate and roommate, Dr. James T. Lowe Jr., who was tragically killed in an airplane crash in September 1983. The name to remain in effect as long as the laboratory remains in its current location. Donate Now >

MCGF/100 Black Men Community for COVID-19

The MCG Foundation is partnering with The 100 Black Men of Augusta, Inc. to conduct a community engagement program entitled the “Community Tour for COVID-19” to: 1) provide free COVID-19 diagnostic testing, 2) disseminate COVID-19 health information through health pamphlets (guidelines and vaccine information), 3) increase healthy and preventive health behaviors by supplying PPE (facemasks and hand sanitizer), and 4) conduct a virtual town community town hall event on COVID-19 vaccine myths and facts with constituents of the underserved communities in Augusta, GA. Sylvia Hutchinson, PhD, grateful patient of Dr. Carlos Isales, has made a one -time gift of $25k for the purpose of building awareness, training, and discovery of adrenal diseases with a focus on the condition, pheochromocytoma. This fund will support three education activities (1) visiting professor of a national expert in pheochromocytoma to spend two days at MCG for meeting with Fellows, lectures to the Endocrine Division and Ground Rounds. (2) One fellow/year would be sent to a national meeting with a focus on adrenal diseases for exposure to the latest advances in treatment of adrenal diseases; (3) to fund an undergraduate /medical student/resident/fellow research project on pheochromocytoma or related adrenal disease which would occur in one of the adrenal research laboratories at MCG.  Donate Now >
